talking to myself at this point

i know this is a dumb question, and with the way my questions have gone unanswered recently im sure i wont get an answer, but i ended up breaking a connector to my diverter and replaced it, after putting so much air in the coolant lines do i have to beeld that out of the system when i add the coolant to replace what was lost and if so how would i go about doing that?
thanks

More or less unless you have an air bleed screw by the thermostat, you would idle the car till the tstat opens, with the rad cap off to push the air into the rad, then keep adding fluid till the rad is full and air bubbles stop appearing and you should be gtg.

thanks, thats actully way easier that i figured it would be, so just idle it open and keep putting fluid in, its not gonna build backpressure and spit antifreeze?

Its always a possibility so do so with caution. Once it gets warm and the coolant level is almost full, you may get splashing from bubbles still in the system. Safety glasses are a good idea.

After you bleed air, check the rad before you drive for the next couple days cause there will probably still be air bubbles passing through the system for a few days.

Keep your reservoir tank at its required levels also. Fill to Cold when Cold. And as Willie said, keep an eye on it. It should suck from the res and visa versa.

Fox.....do you have YOUR coolant reservoir? If so, keep it at its levels and you should be fine.

If not, you can elevate the front of the car while your filling the rad and when the t-stat opens, top off, add and then close er up.

Re: talking to myself at this point

yeah i have my res, so it should be ok? i just let it idle with the rad cap off, and it was certainly bubbling for a while, after it got to about 220 i shut it off and it spit a decent amount of coolant right there, so was i supposed to put the cap on first? should i retry it since i lost a bit of fluid there or is it ok?
also now the battery has got a decent amount of coolant on it, how bad is this for it?

Yeah, you shoulda put the cap on before shutdown. Don't try and open it now while its hot!
Top off res, rinse battery off, you be fine!
Just watch it and check it for a few days.
