Issue with swapping TPI dual fans into Single fan car -- fans rub on radiator?
So i pulled the single electric fan from my 84 TA and isntalled a dual TPI fan set up from an 88 Bird. Everything seemed to go in ok, however when it was all bolted up, the fans rub against the radiator. They won't free spin. I expected roughly 1/8"-1/4" clearance but no. Also, the top of the fan seems to lean "in" toward the radiator more than the bottom. To alleviate this, I've had to space them out about 1/2 an inch on each post which puts the fan roughly 3/4"-1"" or so from the radiator.
Has anyone else had this issue?
I'm sure it'll work with it spaced out but it pulls the fan blades a long way from the radiator.
Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
