Dodge stratus fans
Was bored today and started looking at cooling fans ( I have no life). The Taurus and Marks VIII fans are total re-engineering to get to work properly. Anyways, I stumbled across cooling fans out of a 95-2000 dodge stratus. Starting digging into them and read that people were using 3rd Gen Fbody relays to control them
. It looks like mounting could be easier than LS or LT fans, but I am not sure. Also, will they fit on the stock rad? Opinions? Thoughts?

Found a pic of them installed on an f-body radiator which is in an old G body. Just trying to get as much info as possible, maybe another fan solution.

Re: Dodge stratus fans
See if you can find out the AMP rating for each one That would include the start up amperage.
That will tell you if the stock wiring will handle one.
The Taurus and Marks VIII fans require a totally separate circuit from each other and the stock one because of that. These could be the same,
so each of the dodge stratus fans will require that also.

Re: Dodge stratus fans
It varies from year to year but on average, on low speed they draw 20-22 and on high speed about 30-32 amps. Keep in mind these are dual speed fans meaning, they are wired in series where you have two grounds, power to one lead is low and adding power to the second lead is high speed. They run together on low or high-very efficient fans definitely. I have Chrysler/Dodge dual speed harnesses on hand unless you want to build your own. I've ran these fans myself and for their relatively thin design, they move a good amount of air-not the quietest fans out there but then to move the air they do I guess they really gotta spin some rpms!

I might go to the JY today, and see if I can grab a set. I know they move a ton of air, and are more electrically friendly than the Taurus/MarkVIII fans.

Curiously awaiting for your experience & opinion.
Seems from the pic, the motors stick out quite a bit. * IF * you do try it, would you please post
overall height measurement from shroud face to rear of the fan motors?

Re: Dodge stratus fans
I use these fans-they are from a Chrysler LHS. I have quite a few of these-they are 3.5" in depth so clearance is not an issue. These fans are dual speed as with most Dodge/Chrysler dual fans.

Went to the JY, didn't find any of those particular fans. the cars either didn't have them, or were picked already. But, I will keep a look out for any new cars that come in.

What year of LHS...first generation 1994-1998, or second generation, 1999-2001?

2ng gen. They have a better (is quieter) fan blade design. Also, the backs of the fan motors are covered by the shroud-the earlier ones looked bad when they start getting surface rust scaling. Wire size is 12ga.

Re: Dodge stratus fans
gm w-bodies and h-bodies with the 3.8s have dual fans and might be a little narrower, engine clearance wise. i have just used the stock v6 single fan that came with my car and havent had any cooling issues. though i live up north and dont use the a/c.
