AC and Smog pump help needed

Hello guys, this is my first post so I will keep it simple.

If I delete the smog pump, can I still fix my air conditioning? I don't know how the smog pump affects the compressor but I can't seem to find a thread with what I'm looking for.

So I can just remove the smog pump and at those ugly hoses that it's connected to and still have the ability to run my air conditioner?

Without the smog pump delete pulley you may get some belt vibration. I've only read about it on here once or twice so I don't really know how big of a deal it is but it's something you should probably be aware of.

i have none of that..its tight as it was with the smog pump on as it is off
this belt from autozone Belt size "968K6" worked perfect.

before i removed the smog pump i checked the current belt
removed the smog pump n nice n tight

just make sure you follow the new path of how the belt goes on
not whats on your hood for stock belt path.

u can add it and use the old belt path, no harm in using it just another pully to replace when the bearing goes bad
eventually.

I did the same thing. But now I have the A/C working it throws the belt. Is there any way to avoid this without putting a smog pump delete pulley on?

if you followed that picture (minus the extra pully) and used this belt size
968K6 from autozone. then u shouldnt be throwing a belt

Re: AC and Smog pump help needed

I don't have an Auto Zone. The parts store I do have comes up with 3 different lengths when I asked them to cross reference it.

How long is it?
