Heater control valve / AC reinstall

Do we need to install this heater control valve to use the AC system

I stupidly removed the AC system from my car, then after a summer of sweating the horse power gain ain't worth it. So iam reinstalling it

Re: Heater control valve / AC reinstall

Probably not, but it depends how you plumbed around it. Since you live in NY you probably plumbed all the coolant through the heater core. This will reduce the effectiveness of the AC.

Yes you will have to do something or your AC will never get cold.

Previous owner had all of that stuff removed on mine, so I just went to lowes and got a $4 ball valve. During the summer I have it shut off which stops flow through the core. Cheap and effective.

This is what my brother did with his Dart. Cheap fix, low tech, works great.

Make sure you plug the vacuum line to the diverter.
