82-92 Firebird Air Conditioning Specifics needed - Hose sizes etc

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to get my A/C sorted for my car and wanted to get some info on the hoses and fittings before I go to the A/C guys and get ripped off.

I have an 85 TransAM that was converted to RHD in Australia.
They butchered the HVAC box pretty good, and it never kept anything cold anyways, so when I put a different dash in the car, I did away with the standard condenser, and bought a universal under dash unit.

The compressor is the same, as is the evap radiator at the front of the car.

The compressor connecting piece looks like it will still work if I bend it a little to fit into the serpentine bracket setup I used, but I'll need to buy some of the washer/o-rings for it.

I just mainly wanted to know what the hose sizes are and the fittings from each section, so:

*High pressure hose Compressor to condenser box and fittings for each end
*Low pressure box to drier hose and fittings for each end
*Low pressure drier to evap radiator hose and fittings for each end
*Low pressure evap radiator back to compressor hose and fittings

*And lastly any washers/o-rings/seals sizes needed

Anyone able to help out with this?
I just want to be able to order the parts to give to the shop so I'm just paying for the labour for them to crimp them, connect them and gas the system.

The shop I'm looking to use calls most of the hose sizes by 6,8,10 or 12. Not sure if thats a universal sizing or Australia specific, and then it looks like there's different fittings for R12 or R134a.

I think it's been gassed with R134a but not sure.

Anyone?
Did I post this in the right section or is there another area for A/C related stuff?

Not an expert by any means, but hey at least you know someone's looking at this....

I'm kinda surprised no one else has jumped in yet myself!

Right hand drive conversion?! So, it's like vehicles in the UK or like the US now. Either way, I can only imagine the nightmare! Got pictures of how it is now?

(FYI I'm using my 83 Trans Am with Crossfire injected 305 for all references - may not be 100% the same, but good references I hope)

I took some measurements- forgive me, but don't have metric conversions for most, but maybe it'll be a start!

The largest line (compressor to accumulator/dryer) is 16mm or 5/8 inch... that's inner diameter of rubber, as the metal portion after crimp fittings is the same measurement. Approx 7/8 inch outer diameter on the rubber. Nut for fitting is approx 1.25 inches.

The smaller line (compressor to the condenser in front of the radiator) is 10mm or 13/32 inch. Same principal applies going to the metal as before. Approx 3/4 inch outer diameter here on rubber. Nut is approx 7/8 inch.

Your solid aluminum line (most likely) from evap to condenser is about 3/8 inch outer diameter.

The nut measurements are just for which wrench you'd use to tighten the down.

As far as o-rings go, buy a multipack, best bet.

Let me know if any of this helps - I had all these lines when I put my system back in a month ago, so i know the pain of rebuilding an AC system!
