92Z28 running a little too hot.
I'm looking for some thoughts on my 92Z with 305 auto. It is running a little too hot. The fans are on a toggle switch and it is not using any coolant. On cool evenings it will go up to about 215-220 with both fans running. This is higher than it used to. Too hot to ever use the ac. Thoughts on where I should start? Thermostat? Water pump? I don't know where to begin.

Re: 92Z28 running a little too hot.
It seems to me that on a cool night just cruising at 60 mph that the car should be cooler than 220 or so with both fans on. I'd like to get back to where I could re charge and use my ac. How would my car act if I had a thermostat stuck closed? I'm just fishing for thoughts here.

Air dam is in place as it should be. I don't when on the coolant. The previous owner did change the the radiator, water pump, and thermostat, I could only guess that the coolant would have been changed then. All of that was about 35,000 miles ago.

If your gage went that high you would see temps in the 300° bracket.
The engine would begin stalling and you would have to keep your right foot on the loud pedal to keep it running.
Use an IR thermometer to make sure your gage is accurate.
Does your radiator get hot or is it relatively cool?
