Neither fan should be on constantly. They are temperature controlled, by the ECM/temp switch.

Re: yep it happended

Ive taken the radiator out because it ended up blowing a hole and have checked the fans, one dosent work at all and the other one( which was connected with an adjustable switch), the sensor had broken inside the radiator hose so that one didnt go.Would having 2 12 inch fans on a sensor switch so they both came on at the same time be to efficient and end up turning on and off all the time ?Its quite nice here 15 to 27 deg celcius at the moment and in the winter i dont go out if its not warmer than double figures

Two 12" fans running simultaneously should be more than adequate. You wire them up most any way you want. It was about 70 deg F today in So.cal.

Re: yep it happended

Both my fans are wired to an ignition on circuit. When you turn the key on both fans turn on and run all the time. This was done this way when I purchased the car so not sure how they did it although there is a ground wire spliced in the fan relay circuit. It may take my car an extra couple minutes to warm up but the temp always holds steady and never goes over 200 on the gauge when idling with the A/C on. Not sure if Rock Auto ships to your part of the world but I did replace both the fan motors ( about $25 each) for peace of mind.

Re: yep it happended

So, give some info...share what you know.

I can tell you this...IF no one effed with the car (but seems they did) the primary fan will turn on at 235...or 232 degrees, I forget. Secondary fan comes on with AC (both fans run) or at 242 degrees.

So don't be non-descriptive in a request for assistance, many here can help, but why would I run to get my manual if you don't provide basic info.?

Re: yep it happended

wooh you must be having a bad day, what i know is on testing the fans the one that is supposed to kick in first is actually stuffed ie dosent go ,and the second fan had been changed to an adjustable thermostat but the sensor had actually broken inside the hose so that baby didnt work either, the a/c dosent work thats a whole new thing to look at

Re: yep it happended

Since both of your fans are out, I'd seriously consider swapping out to 4th gen fans. A little cutting on the shroud to get it to fit but they're superb at keeping the engine cool on my car. Wiring is otherwise identical.
