I decided my single fan could use an update after some forum searching I found that the 92-02 Corolla dual fan (TO3115106) was a great fit. I got one on ebay for about $80 and also picked up some factory pigtails for the fan so I could use the connectors it came with and make my own harness
To make the fan fit I trimmed down the factory top fan mount then fabbed up some upper and lower mounts.
The only snag I ran into was the thermal switch did not like activating two relays. I am not sure if it was an inductive kick back issue I could have solved with a diode but I decided to add a helper relay so the switch would be back to its normal stock mode
The bottom mount was angle iron with some 1" box steel I added some 5/16 studs
Your relay configuration is wrong 58 and 86 are the control contacts for the relay. Wiring like that would do nothing but, probably, just burn up the relay
Nicely done; that looks like something I would have done.
I installed a Toyota fan setup on a buddy's '79 Cutlass a few years ago, but he used one of those adjustable controllers (which I do not like).
This is the Chevy Malibu fan swap I did a few years ago: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cool...tallation.html
If I may ask, why didn't you go with LS fans? They are a direct plug & play. Plus, the shroud for the LS fans doesn't leave a gap at the top of the radiator.
I did not consider LS fans I knew that corolla fans could be very effective and were shrouded better than the stock one so I went for it. I really liked the mod in the summer it was super effective.
Wanted to give an update. I have been running this system with my sniper EFI one output per relay and still cooling the car great. Just transferred it to my new build but I rebuilt the top mount to make it look better.
