Cooling fan nut

Can anyone spare a little knowledge and pity and tel me what size nut goes on the center of the radiator fan? I went to check my turn signals today and heard the fan making a weird sound, I looked and it was fully hanging off the motor. I don’t want to replace it just because a little nut fell off, as I’d much rather just replace the nut. Thanks!

Re: Cooling fan nut

That nut is special-don't know if threads are metric, but it is reverse LH tread with built in washer...Check if the nut is laying in the radiator support and if not found, get a fan from junkyard, take nut and have a spare fan motor.Just about any GM car with E-fans up through at least 2005 will have the same nut-lots of the FWD cars have basicly the same fan as a TBI third.

Re: Cooling fan nut

Strange that it came off. Since the reverse threads make it get tighter when the fan spins.
