AC Delco 213-4793 temp sender or fan switch?

Hi everyone. I have a 92 Camaro RS, 305 TBI, 5spd. I'm looking for a stock fan switch. I'm getting conflicting info on AC Delco 213-4793. Gmparts and AC Delco websites do not help clarify either. The conflicting information provided for this part number is sensor, sender, and switch? I know it's not a sensor because it's not on a bus or a 5 volt rail. Is this a temp gauge sender or is it a fan switch? Thank you.

The ACDelco Professional 213-4793 is an Engine Coolant Temperature Sending Unit. It's for the coolant temperature gauge in the dash cluster.

Thank you. Is there a part number for the Fan Switch? I'm having trouble finding it. Much appreciated.

You're going to need a Standard Motor Products TS-82 Engine Cooling Fan Switch.

I don't know if there is a Genuine GM OEM or ACDelco version of this switch.

That is the stock one that I believe is ON at 229F and OFF at 213F.

You can get a NAPA Echlin ECH FS111 that is ON at 220F and OFF at 204F

Seems NAPA is having a 20% off deal going on now too.

I think you are absolutely right. I can't find a ACDelco to save my life. All I was able to find so far was a Duralast and I'm extremely hesitant about it. Thank you very much. I'll look for the SMP and NAPA part.

Since you live in Phoenix, AZ you might want to look at one of these two fan switches. Rodney has these made by the same company that supplies Napa with their Echlin fan switches. He has 195° ON and 185° OFF and 210° ON and 200° OFF fan switches that will keep your Camaro running cool. The 195° ON and 185° OFF fan switch will require you to get a 180° thermostat for your Camaro.

Re: AC Delco 213-4793 temp sender or fan switch?

Thank you for the recommendation. Let me fill in some blanks for full context. I'm putting in an alloyworks 3 core radiator, which includes a 185/175 switch. The radiator comes with dual fans. Additionally, I'm swapping out the thermostat housing with a Dorman housing that allows for a second switch. This is where I'll install and wire in the 185/175 switch. I also purchased an AC Delco 131-84 which if memory serves me right, is a 170F thermostat.

My thought process was to wire in the lower temp switch to the first fan and use the stock switch for the second fan so that I have a dual temp fan setup.

The only thing I haven't decided on is how I was going to run trigger power to the relay yet. Either direct to the battery or to ignition power. I've also considered swapping the two switches, meaning using the 185/175 switch on the stock wiring and the stock switch on the Dorman thermostat housing, in which case, brings in the option to use the stick fan power as a relay power trigger.

This is the vision. I'm completely basing this vision on what I've read throughout the forums and YouTube videos I've watched. I'd love some feedback. Thank you.
