165 ecm

i just purchaced a 1227165 ecm from a junk yard for my engine swap. I was wondering if it would work in an 89 tpi engine if i changed out the memcal and prom. the following numbers were on the ecm

SERV. NO. 1227165 ABWN

868161 M720031940

16068161 ABWN

Yes, it'll work with the correct memcal (the prom is part of the memcal). BTW, the ABWN memcal is for an '87 Camaro with a 350 TPI engine, A4 tranny, 3.27 rear, and Federal emissions. You could easily use this to solder a ZIF socket to and burn your own proms.

Thanks for your help guys unfortunately the chip was gone so I had to order a new mem cal and prom from gm
