Which wire to the ecm allways has battery power?

I put tbi from a 90 van in my 78 truck, but I wire everything off the key switch so the ecm allways looses voltage when I kill the engine. I have an idle problem (likes to idle at 1000 when it warms up) and I think it could be learning but it gets erased when I kill the engine..

You are correct it is losing the memory when you turn the key off. Here is a link you may find useful, it has a bunch of diagrams for various ECM's..
