I bought a stage 2 chip from jet and when i installed it the care ran terrible. I had to take the hole computer box apart besides it was a real pain.so i called them and asked why it wasnt running right and they said it was because their was a upgrade from gm on that chip and they would need to reprogram it. gm told me their was no upgrade for my 350tpi in 1989.also ever since i bought the car the lockup doesnt work so he said i should get that fixed first.bottom line i sent it back its junk anyway.my ? is this why didnt the chip work? whare can i get one that will? do i need to fix the lockup? do you think their is something else causing the problem?will i have the same problem with evry chip?

First things first, fix the tranny (I assume you're refering to the lock-up converter and or lock-up switch). Then go to www.fastchip.com and order a chip. If you dont have anything major done to your car that would need a custom chip, just order their performance chip for an 89 IROC with a 350, it's like $159 or something. If you need an completely custom chip, they can do that as well for around $350, just give them a call.
