CKT 453 is bad. What should I do???

After all the frustration, i finally figured out whats been goin on with my car. Circuit 453 is crapped out. Its the reference ground from the distributor to the ECM. I tested it all the way up to the ECM harness. Now my question is, would this be a problem in the PROM, or in the circuitry of the unit itself. No matter how i tested it, i still get no sign of a closed circuit. Should I start looking for a whole new unit, or should I talked to TPIS, which the PROM came from, and see if they can figure out if its the problem. Any help will be much appreciated.
