no more egr in ecm help

how or where exactly do i go to get the egr burned out of my ecm? do i have to take out the ecm or can i roll right into a shop and have them do it!
i'm taking out the egr along with the other emmisions stuff when I do my headers and I don't want any problems.

From what I understand you dont NEED to do anything to the chip unless you cant stand the error code. The EGR stuff in the chip will only give you an error code, thats it. It wont affect the drivability of the car. So if the error code matters to you, then burn a new prom with the EGR sensor check turned off. Other than that, pull the sensor and weld up the holes left over and you should be good to go. Doing the same thing to my RS track car (motor is a 88 L98). I dont really care about error codes, but since I'm burning a chip anyway, I might as well turn the EGR check off. This is just what I've read. You might want to double check with others before doing anything.
