I have 86 Z28 TPI. A while back my car caught on fire(wiring problem). I got a wiring harness from the Junkyard and ECM from some guy. Yesterday I installed the wiring and ECM and I think I conected'em right. I tried to start my car up and the engine began to rotate but did not run. My check engine light did not come on (bulb is fine) meaning my ECM is not working. I checked the power inlet at the ECM conector and it had power. Then I tried to bypass the ground and I noticed my RPM needle was going up and down about 200 rpm everytime I grounded the circut.
How do I check the ECM if it is still alive? Where is my problem?
