Will a chip from an L69 Monte Carlo SS do me any good?
A guy I know swapped out the motor in his Monte last fall for a new ZZ4 crate engine. If he still has the ECM stuff laying around, I could probably get it from him for free or next to nothing. My engine mods are listed in my sig. Would the chip from that L69 motor help me out enough to mess around with it, and would it even work? I don't know, but maybe the way the chips fit between the two cars is altogether different. If anybody has an opinion, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks,
Eric

Double check me but I think the L69 uses a knock sensor.
Just means adding the sensor, one lead, and the ESC module wiring, ie 4-5 other wires.
I had gone to the ZZZ ecm, and bits, and I think the ecm, and ESC were the L69 parts.

My motor does have a knock sensor on the passenger side of the block. Would I be able to just change the chip, or would I have to swap the whole computer? All I really want to do for now is put a different chip in it, and I thought if I could get away with using that chip, it would be much cheaper than buying one from Jet or Hypertech or something.
