Lots of aldl questions

I've been doing soem engine logging,a nd qite frankly, I'm lost. I understand the easy stuff, like the battery voltage and temperatures, but I don't know about the other stuff. Heres a few direct questions.

What in the world is a normal BLM? I thought it was supposed to stay at 128 always if things are working right. Below 128 is rich, over 128 is lean. But what does that mean? For example, I was driving today for a while and my logs show that whenever I go from 55 to 60 or 65, the BLM goes from 128 to 134. The engine seemed to be running fine, but what does the change in BLM show?

I think the integrator (INT) values are related to the BLM, but I'm not sure in what way.

I have no clue about MAP and IAC other than what the letters stand for :lala:

Then theres the knock counter. I see that it increments, but just how much knock is a bad thing? I tried to compare knocks and RPMs, and found out that I'm very good at keeping the RPMs stable and varying my speed. Of course that didn't help me in figuring out my knock counts. How about 204 for a 2 hour drive? Most was highway, and towards the last 30 mins it was city.

If it helps any, I can send my log files to someone, but I'd really like to be able to figure this out myself. I tried searching and came up with bits and pieces, but I just can't seem to find general guide to using a scan tool (laptop with aldl in my case)

thanks!

What you said about BL is true.
128 is best but 120-136 are all in the neighbor hood.

MAP
Manifold Absolute Pressure.
Measures vac in reference to 0.
Normal atmoshere is 14.7 PSI or 100K/Pa.
15 PSI of boost is 200K/Pa

IAC Idle Air Control.
IAC counts how big the opening is bypassing air. 255 counts is about .25 of an inch.

i just began using winaldl and am wondering the exact same thing. What exactly is BLM and INT? I know you want around 128 blm but what is that measuring? Also, i just went out for around a 20 min. drive and got on it around 4 times. The knock count was up to 50-75 at between 3200-4800rpm. How much is too much knock and is there a way i can see how much it is retarding the timing? For instance is one knock count retarding the timing 2 degrees or can it vary depending on how heavy the knock is? Thanks to all who try to get some of these questions filled, i am soo lost in the meantime.
