code 12

I was wondering if anybody knew what to do about code 12, no reference pulses to the ECM? I have no idea what this means

Engine: 305 Lo3

Transmission: 700-R4

Code 12 is displayed when you enter and exit the diagnostic mode when you plug your code reader in or ground your aldl port to get trouble codes. The reason no reference pulse to ecm means it is not getting info from your sensors because the engine is not running.

or... code 12 means that everything is A-OK. code 12 means that your fine. Your only supposed to check your codes in the ON position.
