1989 2.8 V6 Need Help

I installed a '89 2.8 V6 on my sandrail. Worked fine until this past labor day. Now it will start and idle, but when i advance the throttle, it stalls, chokes down, and has no power. I had the local mechanic look at it. He hooked to the ECM computer but could not get any data from it. (Yes it does have power to the ECM) The mechanic seems to think the ECM is not talking to the engine and can not detect the throttle position sensor.

Does anyone have any thoughts.
