Multi-Port Fuel Injection (MFI) is a fairly broad term. In this instance it indicates that it is not an electronic carb, throttle body injected (TBI), or sequential fuel injected (SFI) application.

Tuned Port Injection is just another term used when referring to a Multi Port Injection system that happens to include an indication of its intake manifold runner design.

Please also note that the binary file information available on our site is based on official GM specifications, so we are pretty sure that the information would carry a bit more weight than an assumption.

A 88 MPI 5.7L in an F-body would be a TPI. Looking at what it says there, that's what it is for. Even Further into it, a L98 is a TPI engine.... So it SHOULD run your car, but how well is the question.....

As already stated, TPI is a form of MPI. MPI means basically each cylinder gets it's own injector, as opposed to TBI which in a stock app. gets one injector per bank.
