Help! Motor running rich!

I converted a TPI L98 to a Ramjet intake set-up, and placed it in an S-10. The problem is that the motor seems to run rich no matter what I do. I am down to 19 lb injectors and datamaster shows 1.5ms pulse widths. The LTerm and STerm both show to be way rich and the motor is puffing smoke when I first nail the gas.

To convet the intakes, I had to convert to a newer MAP sensor that mounts on the RamJet intake. I also had to get rid of the EGR.

Do you think either of these could be causing the motor to run rich? What other things should I look for?

How can I lean it out, without burning a prom?

Thanks.

Fuel pressure is one way, but there is something else wrong if you are using a stock computer. Maybe something is hooked up incorrectly. Do you have all sensors hooked up - MAP, Coolant temperature, O2 sensor, TPS, etc...? Are you using a 350 L98 7730 Computer (MAP based computer)? Do you have the MAP hose going to the manifold side (downstream) of the throttle body. What is your fuel pressure (idle with vacuum reference tube disconnected from the fuel pressure regulator)? It should be 40-48. Does the engine bog when the smoke is coming out, or could it be oil burning?

Yes, I have all sensors hooked up, TPS, MAP, O2, IAC, WT, ect. The fuel pressure is set to 40 - 45 at idle, with the vaccum line hooked up. The smoke is definatly a fuel puff, you can even smell the fuel. The motor seems to have a lot of power, it's just running too rich. Also, the motor is running in closed loop. I may be forced to buy a custom prom, but I would prefer not to.

What exactly does the MAP control? I wonder if the new map is causing problems?

Do you think the ECU might be bad?

Dropping the fuel presure will lean it out, everywhere. It's doubfull IMO, that'll get it running right thou.

If you want to get it Correct, you're going to have to learn to so your own chips, are just settle for whatever someone hands you.

You could make a "controlled" vacuum leak behind the throttle body to add more air (you'd have to reduce the mechanical idle opening of the TB.
This is a hack fix but may help it run for now.
You really should make the changes in the chip to correct the situation.
