Blue Streak Electronics of Canada
Just when I'm ready to have a look inside the ecm of my '89 TA,
I discover the box has the lable "Blue Streak Electronics of Canada #EM7165" or something similar.
Has anyone out there ever dealt with these boxes?
How do they rate with the standard Delco units?
Thanks!

It's just a rebuilt one.
Nothing fancy.
You need to sort of watch what you get thou, if you open it up, and see a bunch of wires hanging off the PCB, be sure to use it as a door stop. There aren't many left, like that, but for a while there were some nastily repaired ecms.

Well, I took a look under the lid and inside the box.
It's a VERY clean PC card, all the masking, components and soldering is very top notch worksmanship.VERY IMPRESSIVE.
Looks a heck of a lot better than my '88 Z28's computer box.
Maybe it's a Blue Streak box built on a Friday.
Thanks for the "heads up" !!!

Don't worry about the blue streak name. Blue Streak is a devision of Standard Motor Products. And their ECU's are all farmed out to a company by the name of A1 Cardone out of Phila. Pa, the quality is there. Cardone is a QS 9000 company which is a cert. that is given to a company with very high quality control standards.
I just pulled a 7730 out of a Gt That is a replacement unit the Blue streak.. All I need to do is swap the chip and it seems like it will be a good ecm.. I just need it to work well enough to smog and swap in the gen6 when done..
My stock ecm 165 is a Delphi replacement from the dealer.. Same thing as ac delco there name is right on it.. So ecms They go bad when they go bad that's it..
