ok, so I used the S&P integrator harness on my 92 to switch to tpi and in the directions it says to put a clip into the M slot and splice the wire from that into the E slot wire. on my 92 RS I already have a clip in my M slot and a wire attached to it running in to my harness. I called S&P and they have no idea what the M slot is for on the RS. so does anybody know what that wire goes to on the RS. can I just throw a "bridge" wire between the two? should I just clip the wire into the M slot and splice that to the E slot?

*edit* I guess I should add the E slot wire is purple and the M slot wire is a solid beige

On re-reading your post I have to back up and ask this question, are you talking about the ALDL, the 15 pin (C207) connector under the dash or which one.

On the 92 camaros with the TBI engines (VIN "E"), slot "E" of the ALDL is the serial data port and goes to pin "A8" of the ECM. On the other engines (VIN "S", "F", & "8"), slot "M" of the ALDL is the serial data port going to pin "A*" of the ECM. In both instances, the wire is colored orange. Please note that this is on the stock wiring harness and not on an aftermarket harness. Hope this helps you!!!!!!!!

ok, so I went and looked again. the wire to the E port is orange. so you are right about that. what is the M port used for on the tbi cars (E code cars)? can I just cut the beige wire and splice orange wire over the M? I am using the 740 ECM.

On some of the earlier models such as my 89 Iroc, slot "E" & "M" of the ALDL were the same wire going to pin "A8" of the ECM and were joined by a splice and both wires were orange. I would check the wire and see if it went to pin "J" of the 15 pin (C207) connector under the dash. But would not just arbitrarily cut it, you might need it.
