Need some info on code retreival

Ok i may get shot for this but here goes...

I know that if you jump terminals A-B on the connector thingamajig you can get any codes their are, is this the same on all GM models?

My sisters piece of junk 93 Geo has some issues but i dont need to cook the computer in it

If it has the standard 12 pin ALDL connector, then I'd say yes.

Well it turned out alot easier than i thought.

While replacing the half dozen blown fuses i found one empty slot that was labeled diagnostic. so i plugged a fuse in there, turned the key and she gave me a code 13!

Only $40 for the new O2 sensor, popped it in and shes happily on her way again.
