Holy cow I need Help! Vats
Heres the deal. 92 z28 was running great. Started up every time. All the sudden sometimes it will not start and the security light pops up. Usually it flashes then disappears. Ive thought it was the starter before I figured out it was the security. Then I thought maybe the tumbler was wore out. I havent done anything yet because I cant pin point the problem. Did a flash test and got a code 46. That would be the vats. After so long do these vats security systens tend to just malfunction. What can be done to fix this killer problem. Ive seen bypassing and chips. Im running in circles and late to work! thanks

You can purchase an aftermarket chip and specify vats to be deleted. That's what I did. Purchased the chip from TBI CHIPS

my dad and i actually are having the same problem we just purchased a new key and ignition cylinder that should deffinitly fix the problem

If the tumbler was wore out, the key probably wouldn't turn in the cylinder. First take some rubbing alcohol and clean the resister pellet real good. Worth a shot before you go and replace the cylinder.

So like i said my dad and i bought the new ignition cylinder that turned out to be the problem becuase as you turn your key in the ignition their are 2 wires that hook up and turn inside their casing and sometimes break that was what was wrong with my dads car
