Ok I was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly how to go about retrieving the codes from my 1984 chevy k10 blazer? Like the service engine light always comes on and I was wondering how I go about finding out what the hell the problem is. thank you.

I don't know if you'll have any responses or not. This is after all a site dedicated to thirdgen vehicles.

Jump the two terminals that are all the way to the right on the upper bank of the diagnostic port.....same on all GM's. A paperclip will work. The light should flash code 12 with the key on accessory 3 times, then show the real code (code 12 will always show...it's normal.)
