what will happen

o.k. all this ecm stuff is new to me as i have always owned and worked on older chevys. i saved a 1986 z-28 from the crusher and am doing a frame up resto , got ahead of myself and ordered a stage 2 chip for a 305. after pulling the motor i discovered i had a 350 truck block one piece rear main with 305 heads. so after having a set of 350 heads built and completly rebuilding the motor i am wondering what will happen if i run the ecm #1227165 with the chip i bought or do i need to run a chip for a 350? tom

Re: what will happen

even though the MAF systems are much more forgiving as far as mods go, it will probably be lean & will probably ping badly. you need to get a chip for a 350.

if you can, get your money back on the chip, they will never get it right.
for about the same price as the chip you bought, you can get the stuff to burn your own chips & get a much better tune.
