1st generation ECM. Need a hand.

Ok working on my 81 Turbo T/A. The ecm seems to be acting up or going bad after going through a slew of performance checks in my service manual. I just want to make sure. It has the classic symptom with no clicking from the M/C soleniod. Second when I ground the terminals I don't get a get 12. I have checked all of the wires to the ecm and the grounds and the are all getting power where they should be and with the proper voltage. I do haowever get a strange code sequence when the terminal are grounded. With the light blinking I get a numaric sequence that goes like this:

1-11
1-111
1-1111
1-11111
11-11
11-111
11-1111
11-11111
111-11
111-111
111-1111
111-11111

ETC... just keeps going like that.

Hoking up my scanner for codes it just seems to blip through them all. So my guess would be that the ecm is done. Any thoughts?

It surely doesn't look good. Clear the codes by pulling the fuse or battery negative cable for about 10 seconds. Then re-check for codes. Also check the ECM harness grounds on the engine block. A ground issue will cause goofy things to happen.

RBob.

Thanks Rob that code sequence was before and after I unhooked the battery over night. Grounds all check out. It's always the first thing I check. I just hope it's not the prom. They are very hard to come by. Any other sites that might me more in tune with the first gen ECM??
