hard time for engine to start
hard time for engine to start
the engine turns over, and occasionally starts right when you turn the key. Othertimes, you need to play around with it and the gas pedal to get it to start. Other times, you have to hold the gas pedal a little bit to leave it at the right rpm's because it might turn off. But usually it stays on , but i dont know whether this has to do with the computer or what. There has been a tuneup, new spark plug wires and spark plugs, radiator, oxygen sensor and more, but im curious as to if i have to repgrogram the computer.. it is a V6 mpi, and i intend on swapping it, but for now all i want to do is to see what the problem is

Re: hard time for engine to start
my car does something very similiar to this also. I have an 88 with a 305, tbi. most of the time, it starts before you even let go of the key! At other times, it will crank daylights out unless you push the gas pedal then it seems to run fine.
I have had it have stalling issues with it right after starting it. In my case, I replaced my coolant temperature sensor, and also the wiring pigtail leading to it due to it being in poor condition.
I would also like to have replaced my oxygen sensor at this time, but didn't. You mentioned you have already replaced that so maybe it could be the coolant temp sensor or else the intake air temperature sensor also known as the manifold air temperature sensor.
