whats the best OS for pc datalogging?
what is the best OS (operating system) for datalogging
ive been reading some programs don't like certain OS's like XP or ME or whatever just using those as examples
does anyone know before I buy what i need which OS has had the least amount of problems with winaldl or tunerpro or datamaster?
I plan on using moates usb aldl cable and trying to find a cheap labtop on ebay and jsut want to make sure i have a OS that wo't give me any headaches. I jsut wnat to plug and go but I know i'l ahve to do alittle configuring.

Im using an Compaq Armada E500 (1ghz, 392mb ram, 40gb HD)
and Windows XP Pro with TTS Datamaster and it works great
I have built my own ALDL Cable and using the seriallport.
Works great for me with XP and Datamaster

I'd say Windows XP professional (you really don't want home). I have ran XP for more then a year and have never had software that can't run on it. Vista is still new some programs are not working on it so you don't what to take the chance. ME is really old and i have to say one hell of a pain, my friend had it on his and that computer and he even hated it and change to Xp as so as he could. I'd never use ME or earlier for that sofware, even tho I do use a 2000 as a server. XP is stable and newer so it's perfect for any software.
