Agree 100%, learn to do it yourself

But it helps to get, what I call a starter chip to, at least get
a new engine configuration running well enough to start
to tune it in.
Make sure to give them all the info.
110 lsa going to require some work!
MAF more forgiving than MAP though.

Couple of good Tuners out there to do that.

Not going to promote any of them, Just read up on it.

Later

Appears that a majority of forum members suggest it would be better to learn to "do your own". Been looking through the forum material and understand there are different instrument/software manufacturers out there...but in reality ..what can one expect to pay for hardware, cables and software to get started and make a reasonable chip? Not into racing...just want to make prom changes for engines going into older vehicles that don't need VATS, EGR etc (just as an example).

Ideally..I only need capabilities for TPI speed density with the 1227730 ecm and would love a "package deal" to accomplish this.

I have an extra laptop with a serial and USB (1.0) ports that I can dedicate.

Thanks in advance!

BTW: I have an OTC Nemisys with all ALDC cables..if I could use them?

Re: 305 to moded 355 ,, who makes the best custom chips?

eventually I wil start burning my own chip but Im not trying to burn a chip for the mods listed above on my first try... Ive read posts but some are old and out dated and may not include newer companies that do them.. anyway I was thinking of going through hawks and having them burn me a chip and in the future buying my own programming stuff. does anyone have any objections to Hawks , horror stories or anything. thanks

If you can datalog your own car then you can take that datalog info and send it to FASTCHIPS. That would be better then just giving them specs for them to just guess tune your car.
