Removing computer?

I have an 84 Z28 lg4 with a 5 speed with a carb. Can I take out the comp and If so how? What all does it affect in this car?

Not 100% positive on this, but I think the ecm only controls engine enrichment and fuel metering. It should have an electronic feedback style carb, with a enrichment solenoid. If you have testing in NC it want pass emision testing without the ecm.
