Help me understand narrow band O2

While I appreciate the fact that a narrow band O2 is not particularly acurate, are its readings repeatable? In otherwords, if I make a change with my intake that should increase efficiency @ WOT, should I see a corresponding slight increase in the O2 readings? If not, can one adapt the output of a wideband, so the ECM will still see the same input and interpet it correctly? I really don't want to remove my headers to weld a new bung in for wideband.

Also does the ECM monitor the O2 @ WOT, or does it just make an arbitrary enrichment based on the MAP sensor? Is WOT really closed loop?

This is a parallel thread to my issues discussed here: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/dfi-...ml#post3953259

You can try going to get a heated O2 sensor.
I did and I feel it gives more accurate readings, especially at start up.
To go to the heated O2 sensor cost me about 70$ for the sensor and new plug.

Wide-Band is way better. But if youre on a budget might want to try the heated sensor to improve results a little bit.

I think WOT is directly from the ECM, not sure though.

It already is a heated sensor, 4 wire.

I believe the ECU looks back at the last BLM read for that the cell during WOT or PE. If <128 I think it uses 128 to calc A/F. If >128(adding fuel) it uses that higher BLM to do the calc. Since NB is accurate only over stoich I dont believe GM could in any way rely on it for WOT fueling. Now VW/Honda using a WB in place of NB I bet they do infact use WB for WOT/PE is my guess.
