Need to change prom or not????

My IROC was a 305 and along the lines it got changed to the 350, I do not know who did the change or when or what was done. I do know for sure(at least 99.5% sure) that it is a 350 because the guy I bought it off had it rebuilt and he thought it was a 305 but once it was taken apart the builder found it was a 350. So now to my question, is there a need to change the prom from the 305 to the 350? And is there a way I can tell if this has been done?? thanks.
