datalogging.
im going to start learning hpw to data and tune and all that so ill have alot to get learning on. but i wunna make sure i have the right programs and equipment. I have a 1989 V6 2.8 MPFI. what wire, programs and all that good stuff do i need? if links can be provided it would be nice. im ready to start buying and gathering all this equipment shortly. any help will be greatly appreciated
also what ECM do i have and all that kinda stuff i should know or how do i find out?

The ECM is the 1227302. For data logging see Joby's site for WinALDL:

The MaskID is $3A, you will need that info for the correct definition files.
For a cable scroll down the DFI & ECM page a little. There is a recent thread that covers various ALDL logging cables.
There is more information on the DIY_PROM board. Check the sticky up top for the Tuning Guide Book.

I use the '86 2.8 l in winaldl. There are not a lot of options to choose from for the 1227302 ecm. Good luck

yeah im going to try my best. with me when i do things i do them 100% already ordered books for tuning and everything to learn what i need. even all the maths codes you need to know for all this stuff. i plan on doing it as good as i can ahaha
