88 IROC lack of spark
I have an 88 IROC with the 350 TPI. It sat for several months and had a dead battery. I put a new battery in it and it fired right up and I drove it all day. Parked it for a week and went to start it and it would not fire. Checked to see if it was getting fuel and it is. Checked to see if it was getting spark and it is not. Replaced the distributor, coil, and control module and still no spark. We also plugged the stock ignition back in to see if it was the Mallory ignition and still did not fire. Put stock chip back in computer and still no spark. Is the computer fried or are there any other things that may be causing it?
Thanks in advance

Re: 88 IROC lack of spark
Spark when cranking is provided solely by the distributor. The ECM has nothing to do with spark when cranking. Be sure you have at least 9 volts at the large pink wire at the coil while cranking. Be sure that the two wire harness from the dist to the coil is in good shape and solidly connected. A no spark while cranking, on a stock system is somewhere between the dist and the coil, or the power supply to them, period.

Definitely test voltage at the coil when cranking. Especially since your battery was dead. You may need to clean up wiring connections to solve your problem. Good luck bro
