Electronic Spark control code

Hi all, I have a 1991 Camaro Z28 with a 305 TPI. It's an "F" code car. It has set an Electronic Spark Control module SES code a few times and I want to know where the ESC module is.. A location would be great if you know.. Thanks

Re: Electronic Spark control code

And does the ESC module have anything to do with the knock sensor and is that the only sensor it uses?

The ESC module is inside of the ECM on the MEMCAL. See sticky up top for picture.

The ESC sensor is on the engine block, right side, in front of the starter right above the pan rail. Most likely the connector is going bad. Second likely issue is the sensor is going bad.

So the likely hood of the actual module in the ESC is very slim correct? and thank you for your help!

Pretty sure he meant knock sensor, above, in his quote, in red.

Yes, the knock module (filter) rarely goes bad.

The Electronic Spark Control (ESC) system is the knock detection and reporting system. It consists of the sensor and the filter (module).
