VATS wire missing at 7302 ECM
VATS wire missing at 7302 ECM
89 RS, 2.8 V6, Original Owner, not run for over 10 years. Decided to put it on the road again. Lost Keys, replaced key lock with a VATs cable, no chip in key. Replaced fuel tank and pump. Fuel pump runs for the 2seconds after key on. Fuel pressure 40 psi. No start, no crank over. Knew it would not crank, two lights glow when key is turned on, 1. Security light is lit. 2. SES is lit. I decided to tackle the VATS problem first. The ecm is original but the sticker cannot be read it is messed up. I verified online the vehicle was built with the 7302 ECM. I tore the Dash out, found the VATS decoder. I unwrapped the harness and followed the Dark Blue wire to the connector before the ECM. It came into the (15 way?) on pin L. it ended there. The opposite side of the (15 way?) connector is empty, no wire or evidence of ever a wire going to the ECM. I’ve read the DFI/ECM forums and found the swap out (up grading) to a newer ECM. I want to use the 7302 ECM. The swap out is not clear as to where the Dark Blue wire was/needs to go on the 7302 ECM. Pin B-6 on the ECM connector has Brown/White wire in it and it traces to the MAF unit. Do I splice the blue wire to the brown/white wire? Any Help is appreciated.

Re: VATS wire missing at 7302 ECM
This is going to sound strange, but as far as I know the '7302 ECM in the f-body's don't support VATs. Which would explain why the blue wire from the VATs box ends at the connector.
However, there could still be a starter kill relay. Which would prevent the engine from cranking. Drivers side kick panel...

That confirms harness connector diagram for connector C207 found on this web site. This causes another question. How would the ECM know when to allow fuel to the injectors? I'll hotwire the starter relay tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks.

Of course, Green wire going to the Starter Relay wont work because of' the lost key that has not been fixed with the correct resistor.
