No Fuel!!

I just rebuilt the engine on my 89 IROC and everything looks good but it will only run on starting fliud and turn right off. VATS is ok, 43lbs of pressure in fuel rail, good spark, Injectors got a pulse i checked with noid light, timing is very close. PLEASE HELP!

Check the resistance on your injectors. I went through the same thing a few days ago:

Had 43# of fuel pressure
Had Spark (would run on starting fluid)
Had 12V at the injectors
Had ECM pulses at the injectors

It turns out that all of my factory Multec injectors were bad/clogged - I bought a set of Bosch III's from SouthBay and all is well now.

Just out of curiosity, you don't have a spare, working injector lying around that you can do some testing with, do you?

Re: No Fuel!!

Could it just be no ground on the other side of injector?

Re: No Fuel!!

make sure you have your grounds on the back of your cylinder head and you have a 5 volt square wave reference signal on the purple and white wire at the ignition module

If you believe it may be injectors, here is a crude way to test if the car is doing everything correctly (but the injectors may be dead, as mine were):

^^^Questions, just ask, although it's probably self explanatory. When I tested everything on my car, all signs pointed to the fuel injectors, but I didn't want to believe that ALL 8 were bad/clogged! It wasn't until I did this test that I saw proof that my car was doing everything right; it was the injectors that weren't playing ball....

Re: No Fuel!!

Dante93GTZ nice video, crude I would agree. Saw the same guy cleaning his injectors the same way with a motorcycle battery, IMO if in doubt just send them in to be serviced or just replace them and be done with it.

Interesting video...never seen that before.

If the noid light is blinking then I would think that means the grounds are at least partially connected and working. It sure is hard to believe that all eight injectors failed at once, especially after being rebuilt. Even though it takes alot of time just slap the old injectors in there and see what happens.

I agree, 14 months is a long time to sit. They might be stuck closed but I don't think all of them Hmmm, As far as the video goes it's a good way to fry the coils. I would avoid that avenue.

Re: No Fuel!!

I did an engine swap in my 86 from the stock 305 to a 350. I used my stock TPI unit from the 305. We had the engine running with no issues, then all of the sudden it won't fire. I can get the car started with starting fluid but then it will die. My car has been sitting for about the same time frame.

Any ideas???

Re: No Fuel!!

Your TPI unit may not be getting enough fuel into the engine for it to run.

Re: No Fuel!!

I got my problem solved this afternoon. I had two wires shorted out going to the fuel pump relay.
