So me and my father bought a car, and they guy wasn't sure what was in it (We think right now it's a 383 stroker) and it has an EFI, but I can't figure out what EFI it is so that I can get the correct program to hook it up to my computer.

All I know is that it has an ATEN serial to USB port and I already have the driver's for that, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I already looked around the whole unit and couldn't really see any badges on it.

That there is a Holley 4-bbl TBI unit with the good Delphi injectors. Check the ECM, stock TBI would be an '8746. It should have been updated or have a driver box for the injectors. As the stock ECM can only drive two of the 4 injectors in the Holley TBI.

ECM is located above the passengers feet under the dash.

It's not the stock unit, I'm fairly sure about that.

Dig up under the passenger side of the dash and look for an ECM. You may find a Holley Commander 950, or you may find something else.

It still could be an OEM '8746 ECM even with four low impedence injectors. We have worked with the GM TBI ECM/PCM computers for over 15 years and have successfully connected those computers to dual 2-bbl TBI's and these Holley 4-bbl units.

The key to making them work is to wire a pair of injectors in series. The drivers in the ECM will work just fine in this configuration. It is recommended that the "pairing" be crisscrossed, i.e.: LF inj in series with the RR inj, and RF inj in series with the LR inj. Somehow the fuel distribution is better this way. I have tried it with crisscrossed and without ... it does operate better with it configured in a crisscross arrangement.

Hope this helps!

Oh, they work fine in low RPM set ups, but with the lower voltage the opening time of the TBI injectors is incredibly long. Puts the ka'bosh on any kind of performance use...

Hey RBob, are the older style Holley injectors capable of use without ECM Mods?

I have one here that came off a built 440 engine and aftermarket (GM) complete system. It never did run well until we put a BB TBI unit on it.

The old style Holley injectors shouldn't be used at all. These are the ones with the round topped injector connectors, pure junk.

Note that the ones the OP posted pics of are the good Delphi injectors.

That's why I asked, the ones I have are the round top and thought you may have figured out how to use or modify them for use as an injector! I figured they would have been good fishing sinkers... Guess I have a good four barrel throttle body for MPFI!

One of the nipples on the vac port on front of TBI is most likely leaking or about to fall off !
