Re: 165 swap, problems

Do you mean that the starter won't rotate the engine? The ECM doesn't have anything to do with that. Open the drivers door and observe the dome light.

Hit the starter, if the dome light goes out then either the battery is dead or the fusible links at the starter are going bad.

Re: 165 swap, problems

I didn't think it did, but its a hell of a coincidence, battery was being jumped at the time(battery is fine, but from sitting low lost its charge), and fusible links should be good as well.
A buddy suggested NSS, if that can actually keep the starter from cranking(thought it only did this in gears other than neutral and park, and would only do so if connected) then that's probably the problem, since my B&M shifter isn't 100% integrated as of yet(still need to track down the 4-40 screws for the reverse light and NSS.

Yes, the NSS will prevent the starter from running. This is to prevent the vehicle from being started while in drive or reverse.

The other switch in a P/N input to the ECM. Ground for P/N, open for in drive. The ECM uses it for which idle speed to use, and to bump the IAC when the shifter is moved to an 'in gear' position.
