Today on my 1987 TA 305 TPI I found a hidden yellow box sitting besides the ecm, it has a toogle switch on it and two connectors with cables, on the backside there is two stripes of velcro that fits two stripes of velcro on the consol so maybe it used to sit there for easy access?

There is a sticker in the engine bay from ADS Superchip but the ecm seem to have stock memcal, I discovered this while trying to find out why TCC and cruise doesen`t work,

Any tips or hints?

 

Could be anything. Follow the wires and find where they go.

 

I wonder if that is the VSS buffer, sounds like it may be. And the toggle switch is used to kill the signal, which would cause the ECM to not go into speed limiting fuel kill mode. Which if the toggle switch stops all VSS signals would also affect the cruise control.

Flip the toggle switch and see if the TCC & cruise work again.

Tried the switch today, nothing happened, connected the laptop and ADL cable with winadl, VSS is working because the ECM was reading the speed as driving, tried to brigde the a&f terminal, nothing! The yellow box has a sticker: 4 output buffer, it is the VSS buffer, just wonder who put the switch in there....
