L98 ECM handle 383 stroker
I am having a 383 stroker built for me as we speak my question after i upgrade my fuel system i was wondering do i need to change my ecm or just the chip/tune. I have a 1992 Camaro TPI 5.7L I am going with the HSR intake kit as well. So my friend told me about my ECM might not handle the shift points switching to 6500rpms instead of what they are now. So anything will help has anyone just swap a 383 for 350 and not have to change the whole computer system. Thanks

ECM can provide fueling to 6400 rpm and after that it holds the same amount of fuel to whatever rpm you desire to shift at.
Its not a problem because you can set 6400 fairly rich and compensate as the motor turns more rpm.
I ran my 383 to 7K and only had fueling curve to 6400
Ran great, mid 11's on motor and 10.6's on spray.
The ecm will handle it, just need it tuned. i run the same 91-92 TPI ECM on my twin turbo 401 making ~700rwhp and hope to push 1000whp with the new setup
