Dyno Tunning

I spoke with a guy today about tunning my car on the dyno when I am done, he will give me 5 hours for $400. The problem is he mostly does newer F-Bodies 98-2011, where can I get a good software for my car(91Z-28) Is there a way to put a LS set up (ecm, sensors) in the 91.I may sound a bit dense here but the ECM is no where near my strong point, looking for some tech help here guys.

Re: Dyno Tunning

i believe you can do whats called 58x...im pretty sure thats what its called. but you pretty much need to convert to cam and crank position sensors, coil packs, and a few other things. then have to have an OBDII ecm and harness. its almost not worth doing all those conversions unless you have a super sick expensive gen1 small block. if not, id just go lsx. BUT that guy just needs to learn how to burn proms!! some still do it, even though its just a tad more time consuming.

Re: Dyno Tunning

I will say you can spend the 400 and still have drivablity issues that the dyno wont handle. Granted the dyno is a safe way to tune WOT, cruise fueling(hyway mode) and spark tables for optimum. But I dont think it will address the acceleration enrichment choke cold start OL driving. Certainly the dyno could do all that but will the operator spend the time on dyno to do it? I bet not. Best you handle all yourself.

Is you car modded to require extensive tuning?

To use LS1 ECM/PCM system see this link:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tpi/...-cylinder.html

Note that it is a sticky on the TPI board.

Since you are also into boost an EBL P4 Flash ECM is another route to take. See my sig.

RBob.
