ADS SUPERCHIP

I have -88 TPI engine which I`m going to install to my -58 Chevy truck. When I inspect the ECM I found that someone had allready installed the Ads Superchip type 8820-A inside.
I tried to find information of this chip from internet but no luck.
I only found out that there are A,B and C types of this chip.
What is the difference between normal chip and this ADS chip?
I donīt have the steering column from that car where I got the engine so I will probably have problems with that VATS system (that should be in 1988 model GTA)?
I have Painless Wire harness -- in the instruction book they tell that there are some aftermarket chips which are without the VATS --- is this 8820-A chip like that?

Thanks!

Re: ADS SUPERCHIP

I found one on eBay and it said stage 1. I found a stage 1 HT chip in a JY ECM once and compared it to a stock chip and it had several differences, none of which amounted to anything other then they should be arrested for fraud of claiming it would do anything more then a stock chip.

If it does have VATS enabled there is a kit for like $15 on eBay I saw awhile back that gets wired into ECM harness to satisfy the ECM and lets fueling proceed. On a car it disables fuel and starter when VATs module is in place which you wouldn't use in a conversion.

Re: ADS SUPERCHIP

I also have an ADS superchip in my ECM... I am the third owner and I found the original box this chip came in with all the crap the previous owner gave me. Looks like this was purchased back in '87 or shortly thereafter... not a good chip? I know nothing about it. I have the original chip too...
