I don't know many shops that still handle the old Thirdgen ECMs for tuning. I believe Modern Muscle in Oswego IL still tunes the thirdgen ECMs. Never used their services though.

You are still looking at few hundred for any speed shop to do a tune though.

Schwartz Performance in Woodstock, Il has a good reputation. Never used their services but I have talked to them about tuning my carb. Probably a 2-300$ job.

Legends Racing in schaumburg also may be someone to call
FWIW

I will NEVER go to them again. I was not satisfied with what they did.

Yeah, I remember that thread. I also remember that you basically brought them a basket case car and wanted them to tune it and fix all of the problems it did have.

Your experience wasn't the average customer experience there. Shouldn't ever be bringing a car to a speed shop for a dyno tune if its got an oil leak.

I told them to fix the car. I was mostly mad about how they treated me and how I paid $800 when I asked to take off $300 for the tune that I felt was not done completely. I said I would pay for their time and diagnostics.

Anyways, thats not the point. I have a car that is problem free and just needs to get tuned and I am seeking advice from people on here who has had success.

Re: Tune shop around Illinois?

I used West Bend Dyno Tuning in WI. Worked out well, they kept it for the day and overnight. They burned a fresh chip, gave advice, just over all good expereince. Ran great right after they were done, too bad that engine had problems shortly there after.
