What is the 7730 Limit ($59 and other Speed Density codes)
Pretty simple question, what is the limit of a 7730 ECM running a speed density code? I have my own opinion but I would like to hear the thoughts of others
I'm talking sampling rate (16Hz with $59/7730 ?), high PRM interpolation (linear with $59 ?), injector control (like having to switch to low-Z injectors), issues like that. At what HP and RPM does the 7730 running SD code begin to give up power and more importantly reliability compared to a newer ECM. I cant imagine a 2000HP turbo small block would live very long on stock gear, but then again it can with a blow through carb so maybe it can.

I didnt think my motor had any issues running 140 mph traps+ the first two yrs on old setup. Granted i did not have timing resolution that would make some difference, i had plenty of good fueling with code $59 3 bar map.
Took awhile to smooth the map out to get smooth running engine and i never did get it perfect but it ran strong.
Now i am going to 24x ring and cam sensor for ls1 411 ecm. Everyone around me is excited and expect my combo to really come alive. I am not sure i buy it but i do believe driveability and resolution for timing will enhance the motors ability.
My motor looked great upon tear down. Fuel mix across cylinders was good but i contribute that to the intake mani being well balanced.
So i am curious to see what more an aftermarket ecm or newer more advanced oem one can do. Only person who kinda feels like i do and doesnt expect big power gains over what i had is 87_ta. He is still on the 730 $8d code and running 9.22 at 145 on spray. Under 7k rpms just like me. So it works even tho wet nitrous is manually tuned external of the ecm code. But my boosted motor handled 127lb high imp injectors no problem lol and estimated 800-850 hp over the years. My combo now should have tested the 4 digit power barrier but certain valvetrain issues prevented me from fully acheiving those goals

Does anyone know how the $59 code interpolates above the 4800RPM cells in the tables?

I am not sure but i believe it takes the two highest values between map readings and makes a interpolation, no matter the rpm above 4800. Atleast in my logs its worked that way from what i could tell. 5000 or 6800 rpm, didnt matter it just used last reading at 4800 for timing. I believe super aujp has more timing resolution? Or is that incorrect? Be awhile since i seen saujp bin
Car ran well. I dont know what you are planning but i trusted it enough for my built motor. Still do but i wanted alittle more adjustability found in lsx ecm and since i own 2 other lsx vehicles

OH! Yes I think that is correct, I have forgot the fuel tables go to 6400RPM and the timing only goes to 4800! Haha I guess I should have opened up TP, that's fine if the timing is locked out from 4800 up I was concerned about the fueling.
That certainly will affect my decision

depends on what mask you're playing with.... using a 7730 derivative, i'm playing with VE and spark tables up to 8400RPM and dealing with up to 3BARs of manifold pressure...
of course, i had to add in this capability myself(along with guidance here), but there's no real "limit" if you're willing to make it work.

If i had known there was a way to expand or alternate mask i may have kept up with code $59, or similar format this year. Too late now lol
