How can i tell if my ECM is doing anything.

My 91 RS was swapped from tbi to carb from the PO (harness still has the tbi plug-ins). But i don't know if my ecm is doing anything. During my brake upgrade, the brake light comes on now, the "service Engine" light is on (always has been). How would i check if the ecm is still being used?

key on engine off. CE should blink once then steady on. If a rapid blink it is prom issue. If no blink stedy on it could be ECU. If the CE is on for a period of time it will throw a code. Pull the codes. 55 is ECM.

Since it is formally TBI, unplug the ECM and save it in the hatch area for if the car is ever converted back to TBI.
